At Dakota Dental, we have all kinds of patients who walk through our door. For the past year or so, Bradley Traynor, the beloved myTalk1071 radio host, has been one of our patients.
We’ve been delighted to see him come through our doors recently, so we thought we’d sit down to discuss his favorite things about dental visits, his flossing routine, and which television show he’s looking forward to watching this month.
A Dental Chat with Traynor
DD: Hi Bradley – it’s good to chat with you! Can you remind us – why did you start coming to Dakota Dental?
Bradley: So, I ended up chipping a tooth sometime last year. And at the time, we were all wearing masks and working remotely, so I put off getting it taken care of. Eventually, I was like ‘this is stupid – I’m an adult! I should fix this.’ I didn’t want to hide behind my mask anymore.
Dr. Ashburn was able to get me in super quick and made my tooth look brand new. I’ve been coming here ever since.
Dakota Dental: What do you most look forward to about dental visits?
Bradley: I know that I am going to feel better about my smile when I leave Dakota.
DD: What do you least look forward to?
Bradley: You know, I’ve had so much dental work done, I don’t suffer from dental fears and phobias. The only thing I worry about is the chance that whatever procedure I wanted wouldn’t get to be done. But I’ve been to Dakota Dental five times in the last six months and each time I’ve been able to check something off my list.
DD: Do you floss every day?
Bradley: No. Am I supposed to? *laughs* Just kidding. You know, I did floss yesterday because we had ribs.
DD: Electric toothbrush or manual?
Bradley: I have both, but if you ask me what I use I’d have to say I use regular more. It’s a habit I’m trying to break. But at least I own an electric toothbrush!
DD: What do you love about Dakota Dental?
Bradley: You know, when you go in for a dental visit, it can be scary. And it’s so nice to have warm, smiling people walking you through that process, who’ll talk to you as a person.
I’ve been to many dentists over my life. Some people have lots of letters next to their name, but they make you feel completely invisible. Who wants that?
The minute I walk through Dakota Dental’s door I know I’m in good hands—that they’re gonna take good care of me. It’s not just their dental care talent, but the undeniable warmth from their personalities.
DD: What procedure does Dakota Dental offer that surprises you the most?
Bradley: It’s their SMART mercury amalgam removal. I didn’t have a clue that you have mercury in your mouth if you have silver fillings. I haven’t had this procedure yet – I didn’t even know it was a procedure until recently. But when my last silver filling is ready to come out, I’m definitely having it done.
DD: Favorite TV show at the moment?
Bradley: Oh, The Great British Bake Off for sure. It’s coming back before the end of the month!
